What this blog is about

The first White Cloth Hall is a historically important building situated near the centre of Leeds; the building and surrounding area have become extremely neglected and derelict in the past 30 years.

As of 2015 the area and building are due to be extensively redeveloped as a shopping and leisure district. given the extreme state of structural decay it is unlikely that any restoration of this building can be anything other then a reconstruction using some original material.

The photographs in this blog are intended as a visual record of the building and immediate surroundings in its final ‘unrestored’ state and where taken from 2014 onwards.

Other information about the the Cloth Hall, historical context and surrounding area can be found under the black and white images in this blog.
